Le esperienze artistiche:
Gaia was born in Milan in 1971; she graduated in law at the University of Milan, and she qualified to practice as a lawyer. At present, she teaches and collaborates with legal journals and law firms.
Painting has been her main passion since her university years: first as a self-taught artist, then as a student at the school of Benito Trolese, participating for years in the exhibitions organized at Centro dell’Incisione, Alzaia Naviglio Grande, in Milan. Among the most important initiatives, in 2019 she participated in the exhibition of the Scandinavian countries “Art Nordic Exhibitions” in Copenhagen, and in Giorgio Vasari International Award at the Vatican Palace in Rome. In November 2019 she organized a solo exhibition at “Spazioporpora” art gallery in Milan; in September 2023 she took part to the event “The faces, the masks, the landscapes and the scenarios in Luca Signorelli”, curated by the art historian Alberto d’Atanasio, exhibiting two works on paper by Bevagna, inspired by Signorelli’s works. She is currently part of the Milanese cultural/pictorial association “Artangolo, Fucina delle Arti”, with which she organizes and participates in group exhibitions in Milan and Northern Italy.
In recent years, she has been selected to participate in prestigious art catalogs. Since 2021, she has been included among the contemporary art painters of CAM n. 58 and 59 (Catalogue of Modern Art) published by Giorgio Mondadori, she will also participate in the 2024 edition. Gaia is fascinated by the intense landscapes of the Mediterranean Sea and its boundless skies, and she captures their intense lights and dynamic atmospheres with vibrant brushstrokes. The rapid variability of an ever-changing sky and its strongly introspective features are reconstructed in Gaia's paintings through dense and liquid brushstrokes.
